Moose on the Loose again....

What a great start to the morning!! Love to see moose anytime, anywhere. They are such magnificent animals! This momma and her baby were running through the field behind our office building this morning.  One of the Range Techs, Dell, snuck out back and took these great pictures of them. Thanks for sharing with us, Dell!! =)

Young Women in Excellence 2010

"You Must Paint Your Soul"

This was the theme for the night and it turned out so amazing. It all came together perfectly. The opening act that the girls put on was, "I Enjoy Being a GIRL" It was so funny and cute.

There were beautiful talks given by our Stake YW leader, Julie Smith, our YW President, Margaret, and our Bishop.
We were able to watch a beautiful slide show created by Terah, our Beehive leader, she also created these magnificent silhouettes of each of our young women.
I am so grateful to be working with such wonderful and talented young women and great leaders too. They are helping strengthen my testimony by just being great examples to me.
Shelbi concentrated on the value, Knowledge for her display. She made a tied fleece blanket and showed her crocheted ponytail holders and hot pads.
Shelbi is in the hot pink and black dress

At the end of the program we had delicious homemade Eclair's made by Danielle and her crew, along with hot chocolate. A perfect ending to a wonderful night.

Twin Falls

The kids and I were able to go to Twin Falls this past Saturday after Taylor's football game. Brandon is on the night shift, so he was not able to accompany us; next trip he will have to come though. We had a really wonderful visit with Papa and Joyce. We got there about 6:45 pm and visited for a while over dinner. Then we sat in the hot tub for a while. It was very relaxing. We got up Sunday morning and had a really yummy breakfast, then they took us to Shoshone Falls and we took some great pictures and then we went shopping for a bit and grabbed some lunch. We got back to the house and did some more visiting and Taylor and Papa played with remote controlled vehicles. Here are some of the pictures that were taken from our trip.

Love these two shots, they both are smiling :)

This is a really great picture of the kids!!
Making plans to visit again really soon.
We got to see the Twin Falls temple while we were there as well... it was very pretty.

Life around our house has been extremely crazy busy the last couple of months with school, sports, work, and just everyday life. I have really slacked on posting some really cool things that we have been up to. So...here are some pictures to get you up to speed.
Taylor has been playing football and his team has made it to the play-offs which are on Oct. 16th...these 2 games will determine which two teams will play in the CHAMPIONSHIP game in the HOLT ARENA on Oct. 23rd. Wish them luck, they have a really great team and a really good chance of making it to the CHAMPIONSHIP game.
They have only lost 1 GAME all season so far!!
So PROUD of TAYLOR and his team.
Shelbi's volleyball season is already over and they played AMAZING!!
The girls had GREAT TEAMWORK and played well together.
I am so PROUD of SHELBI!!
Her serving is AWESOME this year...amazing the difference 1 year makes.
Shelbi started playing OUTSIDE HITTER and got some really good hits in!
They had like 20 matches and only lost TWO!!
WAY TO GO EAGLES!!
We were invited to go HUCKLEBERRY PICKING for our first time and it was A LOT of FUN!!

Now in between all of this we have had HOMECOMING, sleep-overs, crafting parties, fishing, work, and just life in general!
YIKES!!
And now Shelbi has BASKETBALL tryouts coming up on Oct. 18th.
Just living life to the fullest!!
Oh, and on top of all that.....I am getting ready to go back to school on NOV. 1st to finish up my B.A. in Early Childhood Education.

Shelbi's Baptism

Shelbi Jo has been working with the missionaries this past year, and made the decision to be baptized. It was a very special and spiritual day for our family. We are so proud of her and all her accomplishments.

This was a poem that Darlene read to Shelbi during her talk on Baptism.

Shelbi's uncle, Tyler, was the one she chose to baptize her, and he did such a wonderful job. Shelbi put together her program, choosing some of her favorite hymns and who she wanted to speak. She had her Grandma Peterson and Darlene Petersen give talks and her little cousins sang "I am a Child of God" and she had Aunt Heather give the opening prayer and our cousin Mark give the closing prayer.

The spirit was so strong in the room, and there were many amazing family and friends there to show their support.

Here are some photos of her special day, her little brother was able to be there, and that really made her day too.

Take me out to the ball game....

Taylor was given the chance to go to a SLC Bees game in Utah on the 19th with a couple of his buddies and his 2 baseball coaches from this past summer. He had a "ball"!! Even though the Bees lost, it was still an awesome experience for him.
The two things that he was most excited about were:
THE HOT DOG
and
THE FOAM FINGER!!

What a great experience for a boy of his age to have!

I hope I have been there

As I watched this message, I began to question myself as a parent. Have I been there ENOUGH for my children? Have I really listened to them, have I taught them things that will leave a lasting impression? I HOPE I have... I have given my all when I could, even through tough times. I hope they realize that I will try my hardest as a parent and love them unconditionally. I as pondered on this awhile, I felt  reassurance come over me. I feel like I have been there, but as we move forward, I am going to make it a point to be there MORE than ever, and listen to every hope, dream, and fear they have. As I watch them become young adolescents, I know of the temptations they will face and I want to help guide them in making the right choices when they will be so impressionable.

A Magical Summer's Night

We had YW's last night, and what a wonderful evening had by all. We started at Margaret's house watching Summer Magic with popcorn and taffy. This movie is SOOO cute!! I thought I had seen all of Hayley Mill's movies, guess not.
After the movie we headed to the to Carol's home to play an old-fashioned game of croquet. It was so much fun to watch the girls play this game and have fun doing it. I had so much fun myself as I had not played this game since I was their age.
We got done just as darkness fell. What a great evening!
Thank you girls!!
